Freespirit Glamping is a beautiful, small and quiet glamping site located on a 220 acre stud farm the outskirts of Helmsley, a beautiful market town in the North York Moors National Park. 

Freespirit Glamping was founded by Andy and Helen during the pandemic.  Despite some very big challenges over the years, we have managed to grow the business and have welcomed thousands of people to our site who have gone on to create amazing memories with us.

We have 9 children between us and an ever-growing number of grandchildren, many of whom have worked on-site with us over the years.

Andy spent many years camping with his children and wanted to bring the best of that experience to you.  He has also lived off-grid and learnt how to make compost toilets, off-grid showers and use solar power to live off.

Those skills have been transferred to the glamping site and he built the toilets and showers you use there, learning a lot along the way.

We are a family run business that believes in being low impact and high in sustainability. Our site is off-grid but has running water that comes direct from the mains supply, which provides water for our LPG heated showers and sinks as well as for drinking.

Our ethos is rooted deep in the environment, and treading lightly upon the planet.  Wherever possible we use eco-friendly cleaning products and try to re-use as many resources as possible.  Even the firepits are made from recycled car wheels made by a local craftsman.

We believe in supporting local farmers and businesses to help the local economy flourish.
